Can I claim my daughter as a dependent on my taxes if she files as Married Filing Separately?

She got married at the end of November, but lived with my wife and I until that point.

You can only if shes states that she is your dependent on her forms.

No you cannot claim her now, as her filing status is determined by her marital status at 12/31, which was married. Her only options for filing now are Married Filing Jointly or Separately with her husband, unless he is overseas in active military. Then you may have other options, ask your tax preparer.

ONLY if she AND her husband have ZERO tax liability when filing separately (which they should not anyway, as they lose the benefit of being married).

Geez, all those wrong answers.....and not a correct one so far.

If you meet all the other rules for claiming her, then her being married doesn't stop you from claiming her if she files MFS.
