price of item * state/fed sales tax = Q
price of item + Q = actual price you charge people

I'm not sure where you'd go to find out what the sales tax is, but you probably already know that for your state cause you're accosted with it a billion times a day!!! :0) good luck with the sales!!!

Just multiply the total cost of their order times 1 plus your sales tax expressed as a decimal.

If your sales tax is 6-3/4 percent, multiply times 1.0675.

If your sales tax is 5 percent, multiply times 1.05

and so forth.

multiply the total by 100 plus the tax rate. example. If your tax rate is 7% and the total sale is $10.00: 10.00 X 107 = $10.70.
