As little as $1 in earned income will get you a little (very little) EIC.

Minimum of $1. Max depends upon the number of qualifying children. At the minimum and max amounts, the EIC is all of $1 or $2.

It's aimed at helping the working poor who don't earn a living wage, not those barely working

At the lower income rates, the amount of EIC is fairly small and grows as income grows, until it tops out, then the amount of EIC declines as income continues growing
Can qualify for EIC with very low amounts of earned income, but won't be much at all
And without children (YOUR own), it's very little

There is really no minimum income needed. I think you probably want to know what is the max to get EIC, not the min. It depends on how many kids you are claiming and whether you're single or married. As single with no kids, you will receive EIC with an income of $1 to $13,400. If married, up to $18,400. With 3 or more kids, you can earn as much as $43,000+ and still get some EIC.
