It is most certainly possible to be fired in ANY union job .
The difference is that the contract specifies the reasons and the procedure for firing someone.
No job has MANDATORY vacations.
Some union jobs have no paid vacations at all.
My husband has been a union ironworker for 32 years.
He gets paid ONLY for the hours he works.
No paid vacations, sick days, holidays, etc.
