You seem to be "big picture" oriented...

So let me give you a BIG PICTURE answer...

America was in MUCH BETTER SHAPE after Reagan, then before Reagan.

Have you forgotten who's administration was there before him?

Did you live through the 18.6% mortgage rages?

I didn't think so.

He believed in a smaller government and paying bills on time. Well, that's what he said, anyway.

You've read that he's done this without reading the reasons why? Did you get bored or were the words too big for you to understand?

Reagan became a victim of his own political rhetoric. When he used to say "Government is the Problem" in his speeches, he was unaware he was making the case for the worse government management yet to come.

1. Negotiating with Terrorists
2. Illegal arms trade
3. Started a private war without Congressional Approval
4. Gave Amnesty to illegals

He let the rich people get richer by lowering taxes. It's the same old Retardlican BS they do today, somehow by rich people being richer they will somehow create jobs instead of buying a new house/car/boat/whatever. Hasn't worked then or now.

No, more spending on the military industrial complex, and the increased policing of the world. One proven fact during Regan's administration, though he cut taxes, tax revenues actually rose. The increase in the national debt was simply more spending. Also, Regan did grow the size of government too. With promises to abolish things like the Department of Education and Energy as a candidate he failed to do so as President. These things were only contributing factors to Regan's increase in the deficit.

To create the illusion of prosperity. It worked like a charm. His gullible followers want to put his picture on the 50 dollar bill.

Oh, and to the person who said Obama raised the deficit in 2 years more than bush did in 8 years, check it again. 2009 was Bush's fiscal year. His administration ended with financial disaster. Bush is like the guy that farts on the elevator and gets off at the next floor.
